LRZ / LRBZ Reactors
The motor speed regulation equipment, frequency variators, UPS units, etc., generate alterations in the network that affect other loads in the installation and the operation of the equipment.
The LRZ / LRBZ reactors connected to the input on the network side of the equipment can:
- Attenuate voltage peaks
- Reduce the harmonic distortion generated by power electronics
- Reduce current harmonics in any converter from 40… 50% to values around 20%
- Reduce the short-circuit current
- Increase the safety of the converter’s semiconductors
When installed on the motor side, they can attenuate harmonic frequencies caused during switching operations.
Design and Features
- LRZ Reactors (Low-powered): Built with low-loss plates and coiled with copper wire. Connection achieved with adequate terminals.
- LRBZ Reactors (High-powered): Designed with a magnetic plate nucleus and multiple steel cores, offering excellent characteristics and a low loss ratio. Copper or aluminum band coils are available on demand, and connections are made via a plate.
- Both types have a vacuum varnish sealing to increase insulation, provide greater mechanical resistance, and reduce noise levels.
Applications
The LRZ / LRBZ reactors are versatile and can be used on both the network and motor sides. Their applications include:
- Attenuating micro-drops and peaks during the initial connection and switching operations
- Reducing the rate of harmonics from the network current
